Decorah & Pine Island

Tuesday, April 16. We didn’t get up too early and slept in a little. We went the the Millwright restaurant for breakfast. Karla got a good frittata. I got sausage, eggs and hash browns. Good sausage. We packed up and checked out. Our route took us on the backroads of Iowa and we made our way to Toppling Goliath. Unlike the day before, there were no dirt roads this time. Toppling Goliath is huge. We were at the old facility in 2016. This is a nice and new facility. It was not busy and we took a couple spots at the bar. They have 25 IPAs or pale ales on tap . So I got a flight of 5 IPAs. Every one of them was very good.

Karla got a tasty sour. We both got wraps that were ok. We took a long time looking at the merch. I ended up with a Hawaiian shirt, socks, a sticker, and a sign. And some beer to go.

We took a few more back roads and before too long we were at Ben’s. We sat and talked for a while and listened to records. A little later Ben drove us to Whistle Binkies. They have a good tap selection and I had a couple IPAs. After we ate, we went back to Ben’s and played some more records. We didn’t stay up too late. Everyone was tired and we called it a night.
