September 2025
(and a little October) After our friend Ben left, we did not have any big events in September. We worked on projects, went for walks, went on pontoon rides, and got together with family for happy hour and to watch football. I finished my cabinet work for the year. I still have some more to…

August 2025
The first weekend in August, there was a birthday celebration for Sarah at Kevin & Emily’s. There were a lot of good friends and good food. August 5 we played trivia at Rendezvous Brewing with Lani and Emily on our team. It was a close night and we tied for second. August 7 we drove…

July 2025
So much for monthly updates. I have some notes, so I will recount some of our activities in July. The first day of July we went to Rendezvous Brewing and played Trivia with my brother Michael and his daughter Olivia. We had a good night and took first place. Over the long Independence Day weekend,…

We got back to Pine Point just before Memorial Day. We started by getting all the boats in the water and continued by working on a lot of projects. We had some tasty flatbread and a spinach chicken wrap at the Farm and the Oddfellow. We also talked with the brewmaster and tried some of his beer from the tap…

Get to Dodge City
We started in Albuquerque and headed east. We had skipped breakfast so we had an early lunch in Tucumcari. Tucumcari looked a little run down but we found some delicious barbecue at Watson’s BBQ inside the Tucumcari Ranch Supply. From Tucumcari it was a long, flat, straight NE trip through the corner of Texas (lots…

SV to Abq
We closed up our place in Sierra Vista. It is very different than closing our place in Minnesota. Of course we do not have to worry about water freezing in Arizona. But Arizona is very dry so we filled five gallon buckets of water and left them throughout Cactus Point. Once everything was packed up…

Sierra Vista Part 2
Since my last post, we have spent a lot of time and energy on getting settled into our new house. We got the keys on Tuesday, April 15. We met Frankie at our new place (Cactus Point). He had got Karla a bottle of wine and got me a 4 pack of hazy IPA. Also,…

SV Spring 2025
It is hard to believe we have been in Sierra Vista for over four weeks. It has gone really fast. We have had a lot of fun getting to know Sierra Vista and the area. One of the first things we did, was to continue our house search. If I did not mention it before,…
