July 2025

So much for monthly updates. I have some notes, so I will recount some of our activities in July.

The first day of July we went to Rendezvous Brewing and played Trivia with my brother Michael and his daughter Olivia. We had a good night and took first place.

Over the long Independence Day weekend, Karla and I went to Cable, WI for the Ludzack family reunion. The first day many members of the family gathered at Larry & Heather’s for a bonfire. The second day (The 4th of July) we were in the Cable parade. Almost everyone walked, except Darlene, who was the Grand Marshal, and was driven by Don in Mike Cleary’s convertible. After the parade, we went to the Cable picnic and then to the Cleary’s for some lake time. The third day we gathered at the Wild River community center for the Ludzack family picnic. There were over 90 attendees. That evening we went to Don & Tish’s for cards and bean bags.

Back at Pine Point, I worked on a bench (with shoe storage) for our entry way.

We went back to Rendezvous for trivia every Tuesday. We played with a variety of people on our team bit only managed to get one more first place in July.

I attended the 45th annual Boot Camp at Mic’s cabin on Duck Lake. We had a horseshoe tournament, floated on the pontoon, sat around the campfire, had a brisket dinner, and drank a few beers. A good time was had by all who were there.

Karla and I made a trip to Nisswa for lunch at the Main Street Ale House and a round at Nisswa Falls Mini Golf. One the way back, we stopped at the Harriet Club and Karla won $100 on a pull tab.

I finished the bench are started working on a cabinet for next to the washer & dryer.

We went out to listen to some live music in July. Including Charlie Parr in Nevis at Muskie Days. Our friends Mic and Lisa were also there. We saw Charlie Wagner at Rendezvous Brewing, and The4OnTheFloor in Park Rapids on the 2nd Street stage.

And we did the usual lake stuff.
We went on the pontoon, and swam when it was warm, played dominoes with Mom, and we hung out by the fire at Kevin & Emily’s place on Woman Lake.

Well, that’s July. Now that it is September, I will try to post some notes about August.
