We started in Albuquerque and headed east. We had skipped breakfast so we had an early lunch in Tucumcari. Tucumcari looked a little run down but we found some delicious barbecue at Watson’s BBQ inside the Tucumcari Ranch Supply.

From Tucumcari it was a long, flat, straight NE trip through the corner of Texas (lots of cattle) and the Oklahoma panhandle. After three hours, we were in Liberal, Kansas and ready for a break. Fortunately, Tortuga Brewing was the perfect place for a quick stop and some liquid refreshment.

The last leg to Dodge City was pretty easy. We checked into our hotel and walked across the street to the Cowboy Capital Saloon & Grill. After some salads and drinks, we went back to the hotel and watched the Timberwolves.
