We started Saturday by sleeping in. It was nice to have a day without driving.

We got ready and made the short walk to Tia Sophia. We were still early enough for it not to be busy. I got the Saturday special hot and spicy chorizo breakfast burrito, Christmas style. It was delicious. Karla got the green chili stew with eggs and a tortilla. It was also very tasty.

We walked around Santa Fe and looked in a few shops. We worked our way to the Loretto Chapel. It is a beautiful church with a very impressive spiral staircase.

From there we went to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Very impressive. We listened to the audio tour and spent a lot of time in the nine galleries.

After the museum, we went around the corner to the Tumbleroot Pottery Pub. It is a taproom for Tumbleroot beer and spirits, and you can make your own clay creations. We just got some drinks and skipped the clay.

We walked around some more and did some more shopping. Karla found a beautiful silver and peridot ring. We checked on The Shed for lunch, but we heard there was a hour or an hour and a half wait.

We went inside the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. It is a beautiful building with lots of architectural details. We got a little history of the old portion of the chapel.

By this time we were getting hungry. We checked the Shed and there were still a lot of people waiting. We looked at the Burrito Company and there was a line out the door. We made our way to the Thunderbird Bar and Grill. We got a table outside on the patio right away, but we had to wait a bit for service. Once we got our food and drinks, everything was good.

We went on a little walk to Nuckolls Brewery. It is a very nice place with lots of indoor and outdoor spaces. I was surprised they only had three of their own beers out of the 26 on tap. We sat at the bar and tried all three.

We had done a lot so we headed back to the hotel for a break. I laid on the bed and was soon asleep.

I woke up in time to get ready for our dinner reservation at Cafe Pasquale. It was just a short walk from the hotel. It was smaller than I expected. I am glad I made a reservation because I overheard someone asking when they could get in and the wait was three hours. We started with an appetizer of roasted pear, Brie, and bacon wrapped date. Delicious. Karla got the stacked chicken enchilada Christmas style. I got the Catalan stew. Big portions and very enjoyable. We finished with the apple cake and piñon ice cream. Also very tasty.

We talked about doing something else but just headed back to the hotel.

One more day of travel and we will be in Bisbee.
