Day three started with a little hotel breakfast. We checked out of the hotel and headed south. For lunch we stopped at Crafty Canary Brewery in Walsenburg, CO. It was a cool little place and we took some stools at the bar. They only had a couple of their own beers on tap. I got their IPA and it was pretty good. Karla got a chili beer from Walter’s that was also good. They had a small but interesting menu. Karla got blue corn polenta and I got Asian beef and rice. Both were very tasty.

After lunch we continued south to Santa Fe. It was mid afternoon and I had purchased any-time tickets so we went directly to Meow Wolf. It is an interactive museum with multiple rooms and secret passages. It is completely different from any other museum we have been in, and it was a lot of fun.

After Meow Wolf, we went to the Eldorado Hotel and checked in. We put some stuff away and relaxed for a bit. Then we went out on foot and checked out downtown Santa Fe. There was a Dia de los Muertos celebration going on in the plaza.

We went around the corner and stopped at the Desert Dogs. We got a couple beers at the bar and found a place to sit. They have their own beer but it is brewed at Boese Brew Co. in Albuquerque. We also shared some el pastor tacos. The avocado tomatillo salsa was good, but we couldn’t taste any pineapple and the meat was over cooked.

We walked around some more and went by the basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.

We ended up at the San Francisco Street Bar and Grill. We shared some chips and queso that was uninspired. We also shared a chicken enchilada with both red and green sauce (Christmas style) that was very tasty.

There was one more place near the hotel that I wanted to check out. We walked to the Chili Line Brewery but when we got there, we were told the brewery had left, so they no longer had their own beer. As long as we were there Karla got a glass of wine and I got a beer. We also got some tiramisu for desert. The tiramisu was good but not great. It was a disappointing stop.

We went back to the hotel and were soon asleep.
