We were up early in St. Cloud and packed up and loaded up the truck. We said goodbye to Mom and hit the road. Because my friend had been pestering me for years, we went 20 minutes out of our way to stop at the Giant Corn Gazibo in Olivia. It was cold and smelly and . . . well . . . we don’t have to do that again.

We continued on to Roundhouse Brew Pub in Sioux Falls, SD. Service was great and we had some lunch and a couple tasty beers.

Because we were going through Vermillion, we thought we would stop at the National Music Museum. The roads around the museum were under construction so it took us a moment to find a place to park. It was worth the effort to see the collection. There were instruments from around the world and guitars that had been used by Dylan and Elvis. I would have spent more time there but we still had a ways to go.

It was after dark by the time we made it to Kinkaider Brewing in Broken Bow, NE. The longer drive on the first day makes for a shorter drive tomorrow and we made it to Kinkaider where there is a brewery, a restaurant and a BnB (bed and beer). Attached to the brewery is an apartment that we rented for the night. It also includes a shower beer fridge. We dropped off our stuff and went to the brewery we sat at the bar and got a couple beers. Then we started with a Scotch egg appetizer that was very tasty. Karla got a delicious burger and I got the equally delicious burnt ends grilled cheese. Service was great and everyone was very friendly.

We went back to our rental and watched some old videos, including 2 Hip 4 TV (check it out) before going to bed.
