Just catching up a little before we start our next trip.
We had some really nice weather in Minnesota in September and October.
In the middle of September, I went to Mic’s cabin on Duck Lake and helped take his pontoon out. That afternoon, Mic, Randy, Al, Mike, Scott and myself went on a 10 mile bike ride around some of the back roads. There were some sandy spots where we had to walk the bikes, but it was a lot of fun.
The last weekend of September we went to the Cable Area Fall Fest. We got an Airbnb right in town and were right next to the action. It was a fun weekend hanging out with the extended Ludzack family.
I took October 16 and 17 off work and we went on an overnight trip to Minneapolis. We went out for lunch at Luna and the Bear, spent a couple hours at the Mia, and stopped for a beer at Brühaven. After we checked into our hotel, we went to O’Donnovan’s and met Andy and hung out and had some food and drinks. Then to First Avenue for Superchunk and opening band Quivers. It was a really fun show and I am glad we went.
We did some shopping and stopped to see Mom on the way back home.
We worked on projects around the lake. Took the boats out, and after winterization, put them in the pole building. It was a tight fit, but we got everything in. Next year we will have another pole building so it will not be as difficult.
I finally started working on the storage for our addition. Built and installed a new cabinet that will be primarily used as a pantry.
After Labor Day, trivia at Rendezvous Brewing moved to Friday night. We made it every week except the weekend we went to Cable. We did not take first place again, but we were second almost every week, including three tie breakers. The last week was a costume party and that was also fun.
This past Saturday we closed up everything at Widow Lake and spent the next few days with Mom in St. Cloud. Check this space again tomorrow for our plan for the winter.
