We had a great time in Bonita Springs. Mike & Mary’s place is very nice. The weather was a little rainy, and there were a few cool days. But we had some time to relax and also to explore the area.
We visited several breweries and went back to a couple to play some trivia. We did not win it all, but we did pretty good and had some fun. I liked the beer at Point Ybel the best.
When we had some good weather we did some stuff outside. We checked out Lovers Key Beach, went on a hike on Black Island, relaxed on Barefoot Beach, and hung out at the neighborhood pool.
On Christmas Eve, we went to Karen and Louie’s and had supper with them and Karl.
On Christmas Day we went to the Paragon movie theater, got the reclining loveseat, and watched Wonka.
For New Year’s Eve we stayed in, made a great dinner and watched movies.
We tried a few restaurants in the area including Pinchers, Flippers, McGregor Grill, Old Naples Pub, Iguana Mia, Seed to Table, and Cooper’s Hawk. Flippers was really tasty, the Old Naples Pub was busy but fun, and the salsas and hot sauces at Iguana Mia added a lot to the meal.
We also played a couple rounds of mini-golf, and we were impressed by the Baker Museum.
Mike & Mary came back on Saturday and we had a nice time together before we left for Port St. Lucie. We will be in Port St. Lucie until February 3. Stop by and see us.
