Had some breakfast with the Zombie before we packed up and headed south. We drove to Des Moines and stopped at Lua Brewing for lunch. We took two spots at the bar on some nice green bar stools. Karla got the Parisian gnocchi and I got Italian Cuban. Karla’s was better but the pepperoncinis on the Cuban was a nice touch. Karla got a fruited sour that had a nice tropical flavor. My first beer was a colab with Big Grove brewing that was a tasty hazy IPA. I also had another hazy IPA that I thought was better. We looked at the beer to go but they didn’t have anything we wanted.

Karla told me she felt a cold coming on so we went to Walgreens to get some Airborn and some Kleenex. One the road again to Kansas City. During our drive we listened to Mobituaries, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone and our Holiday Hangout playlist.

We checked into the hotel. Karla wanted to rest so I went out on foot and went to Casual Animal. I was disappointed there were only six spots at the bar and they were all taken. I got a hazy IPA that was ok and found a spot to sit. Unfortunately it was by a big group with small children and one of them (the children) started screaming. I finished my beer and left.

On the next block over was Nimble Brewing so I went there. There was a big loud group there but there were a lot of spots at the bar. I got an IPA that was good. The big group left and I was the only customer. I talked with the person there. He probably was the brewery/owner/everything. Nice guy. I got a short mango sour that was good.

I had been gone an hour so I headed back. I hung out with Karla in the room and we decided we were not going to go out. I went down to the hotel bar and ordered some food to go. I had a beer while I waited for food. I also went to the front desk for more tea for Karla. I brought the food up to the room. Karla got a flat bread pizza that was good. I got a burnt end sandwich that was disappointing. I was able to get our YouTube tv on the hotel tv so we could watch the Gopher Badger football game. It was a disappointing end of the season.
