July is almost half over. The summer is going fast. June was busy and there is always a project to work on.
After Wendy and Terry left, Karla and I went to Wisconsin for a week to stay with Karla’s mom. Kathy (who lives with Darlene) went to Florida for a little vacation. Karla did a great job with her mom and I helped out when I could. I had to do some work but I got a few bike rides in as well.
At the end of the week, I drove Karla and Darlene to Bloomington for a memorial service for Tom. We made a playlist for the drive with a lot of Darlene’s favorite songs. The service was very emotional but I am glad we were there and I am glad we got to see a lot of the family. After the service we went to Maddie & Joseph’s for some food and some more family time. We finished the night in our hotel room watching the soccer match.
On Sunday we went back to Hillside Church for Brian’s service. Then we went to Nine Mile Brewing for a quick beer before going to Shakopee Bowl to hang out with the family one more time.
We went home to Widow Lake and did the usual stuff: work, projects around the lake and some relaxing.
We went to Park Rapids with some friends for the 2nd Street Stage live music and saw Joyann Parker.
Karla got a chance to plant some flowers and I was able to go on some bike rides.
We finished the backsplash in the kitchen and put up some tile in the bathroom.
I attended the 43rd Boot Camp.
After Boot Camp I got up early, picked up my mom and drove to Watkins for Danny’s Celebration of Life.
Karla and I went out for an early, tasty dinner at Hilltop Inn, and then went to Park Rapids for anther 2nd Street Stage show. This time it was Rich Mattson and the Northstars. It was fun and we talked to Rich for a few minutes after the show.
The rest of July is going to busy and I will try to post an update in early August.
