Las Vegas

We finished up our last days in Palm Desert checking out a few more places. On Thursday we went to a beer tasting at Whole Foods. It was only $5 to enter and get up to 20 beer samples. I didn’t think we could do anything in California for $5. We had a lot of fun an sampled a lot of good beer. After the beer festival, we went to Babe’s Bar-B-Que and Brewery. We enjoyed some really good food and some decent beer,
Friday we went to the Palm Springs Art Museum. They have a nice collection of contemporary art. We went back to Palm Desert and walked to Kitchen 86. A few drinks, tacos and tostadas and we headed back.

Today we packed up and left Palm Desert. We made a stop in Barstow for lunch at Oggi’s. Our friend Keith met us there and it was great to see him again. We kept going and got to Las Vegas this afternoon. It was busy and it took a long time to park and get in the hotel. Once we got checked in and settled in our room, we went out for a walk. We ended up at the Beer Park bar and had some beer and tacos. We headed back to the room and got ready for the show. We took a taxi to the Westgate Casino. It was very busy with a couple events happening. But we got in and waited for Barry Manilow. He put on a good show and was very entertaining. We took a taxi back and went out again on the Las Vegas strip. There were a lot of people and traffic and it made it difficult to get anywhere. But I wanted to go to Brewdog and Karla was awesome to indulge me. When we got there, it was not busy at the bar and we had a couple beers and split a tasty bacon cheeseburger. We walked back and wandered around Las Vegas some more and looked at a few other places but we did not stop. Back at the Horseshoe we stopped at the lobby bar for one more expensive drink.
Las Vegas is interesting and I am glad we came here, but it is not high on our list of places we want to visit again.
