Tuesday we went to the Grand Canyon. We had planned on going sooner, but there was a winter storm. There was still some snow and ice, but we had a nice morning.
We visited Mather Point and walked along the Rim Trail to Pipe Creek Vista and the South Kaibab Trailhead.
We took the shuttle back and had a good lunch at the Yavapai Tavern.
After lunch we took the shuttle to Hermits Rest. We explored the area, including going down Hermit Trail a few hundred yards. We walked along the Rim Trail to Pima Point.
By this time it was windy and getting colder and there was occasional drizzle. Also, the shuttles were getting full. We made a good choice going to Pima Point to catch the shuttler where there were fewer people boarding.
We took the shuttle back and checked out the gift shop. There were a few things we wanted to see but did not get a chance. They will have to wait until our next trip to the Grand Canyon.
One the way back we stopped in Flagstaff for supper. We went to Lumberyard Brewing and had salads and a beer. Because it was only a couple blocks away, we stopped at Mother Road Brewing for one more beer.
