We have been having fun exploring the Verde Valley.
We made a trip to Camp Verde that included stops at Verde Brewing, Fort Verde and the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum. The brewery was good and the historical sites were very interesting.
On the way back we stopped at the Old Corral Bar in Cornville for a bump. Not bad.
We went back to Clarkdale to visit the Copper Museum. They have a giant collection of items made with copper. A trip to Clarkdale calls for a stop at Smelter Town Brewing. The had some new IPAs that I had to try. Good stuff.
We took the Verde Shuttle to Sedona. The shuttle stop is right next to our place and it was nice not dealing with traffic or parking. We visited some shops, the Heritage Museum, the Sedona Beer Co, we walked around town, visited more shops, and finished with a stop at Oak Creek Brewing.
We did our own tour of Native American sites exploring Tuzigoot, Montezuma’s Castle, and Montezuma’s Well. Incredible locations to visit and to imagine what life was like here 1,000 years ago.
We have also listened to some live music and watched some movies. We listened to the Black Forest Society at Tantrum Wines, and Dave Joslin at Belfry Brewery. We watched ‘When You’re Strange: A Film About The Doors’ and “The Wrecking Crew’ at the Old Town Center for the Arts.
I think we will do some hiking this weekend and there is one more movie at the Old Town Center for the Arts. Hopefully, we will make it to the Grand Canyon. Time is getting short. Before long we will be heading to California.
