Bisbee and around

Wow. Lots of fun in Bisbee. Here are some of the things we have done in the past couple weeks.

We went on a Bisbee Ghost Tour. It was an interesting tour with a some local history.
Friday the 13th we went to the Room 4 bar for happy hour. The smallest bar in Arizona. Just three bar stools. Then to St Elmo, the oldest bar in Arizona. Much larger than Room 4. A fun dive with TouchTunes. Then to the Copper Queen for a nice dinner. On the way home we made one more stop at the Wiggle Room. It was like a house party with some locals having a jam session. Our host was from Hayward. It was a fun evening.
Then on Saturday we went to the outdoor market. We got a little produce and looked at all the other vendors. A little more shopping and then to the rental to relax. It was a nice afternoon so I sat outside and did a little painting. That evening we went to Room 4 and sat on their patio and listened to Carol Pacey & Andy Borunda. We enjoyed their music and talked to them between sets. One more stop at the Bisbee Social Club for One Ghost. Fun rock band with some originals and a good selection of covers.
Sunday we went on a little road trip. Our first stop was the Murray Springs Clovis Site. It was a little cold but we hiked the interpretive trail. After the hike we went to Sonoita and Copper Brothel Brewing. It was busy but we found a place to park in front and a couple spots at the bar. They were out of a couple beers but we tried some good ones. We started with the chile relleno bites and they were fantastic. We had some good sandwiches for lunch. One the way back we stopped at Hops & Vines because it is named Hops & Vines. Despite the name, they do not sell beer. They wanted to sell beer, but first the state stopped them and then the county stopped them. We tried a flight of wine and headed back.
Monday we went on the Queen Mine tour. We went 1,500 feet into the mine and had a tour guide who used to be a miner. Fun and interesting.
Thursday the 19th, we went to the Bisbee Grand for happy hour and then to Café Roku. The appetizers were excellent, the entrees were good and the desert was great.
Friday I went to Old Bisbee Brewing for lunch and had the chili brat. The chili was really good. That evening we went to the Bisbee Grand for Austin Owen and the Bisbee Social Club for Uncommon Crossroads. The music was not as good as the week before.
Saturday morning we went to The Quarry for breakfast. The biscuits and sausage gravy and eggs benedict were outstanding. Also, some of the best, and most expensive bloody Marys ever. We checked out more music that night. Maha Via at Room 4, Miss Olivia & The Interlopers at the Bisbee Grand, The Steve Moramarco Conspiracy at the Bisbee Social Club, and Boy Liquid at The Quarry. Some good stuff but nothing great.
Sunday we went on a road trip to Tombstone. We toured the Birdcage Theatre, saw a reenactment at the Oriental Saloon, had lunch at Big Nose Kate’s, looked in some shops, had a beer at Tombstone Brewery, and walked through Boot Hill Cemetery.

It’s hard to keep up with everything going on. We have company now and more company coming this weekend. I will try not to go another two weeks before I post an update.

  1. I have a note in my phone under “Bisbee” that just says “Jonquill Hot”. Does that mean anything to you?
Did you find the random stair case in the middle of town? I climbed it just for fun. Nothing but houses up top…
