Thursday – I had a half day work so we went to the downtown Daytona Beach area. We walked on the pier and along the boardwalk. A little disappointing as we did not find a place to hang out close to the beach. We went to Sloppy Joe’s had had some drinks and firecracker shrimp. We went to the World’s Most Famous Brewery. I thought it was going to be tourist-y, but it was good. From there we went to Congo River for some mini golf. Lots of fun. We ended the night at Top of Daytona. Great view and great food.
Friday – We went to the beach and relaxed. We into the water a little way, but it was cold. We went back to our place and swam in the pool. (The pool is heated.) Karla made fabulous turkey meatballs and French onion sauce and asparagus. I made mashed potatoes. We had a nice Zoom call with my family.
Saturday – We went for a long walk on the beach. We looked for some lunch but it took some effort. We tried the Azure bar and the H2O bar. Both were having Christmas specials that we were not interested in. We ended up at the Cruisin Café. It was ok.
Sunday – We visited the Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens. Interesting history and nice gardens. We went to Ormond Garage for lunch and beer. Good stuff. I think we will visit again.
Monday – Back to work. Kind of slow. I ended early, rented a bike and biked on the beach.
