Bellaire, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo

December 2, 2021

A little breakfast at the Roam Inn. Then on the road again. 27 degrees. Mileage at 31,723.
Drove past the Munising Rear Range Lighthouse. Across the rest of the UP and then across the Mackinac Bridge. Pretty cool. Lake Michigan on one side and Lake Huron on the other. Stopped for gas in Topinabee. Could have planned that better. Then off the main road to Bellaire MI and Short’s Brewing Company. I had other plans, but a stranger at East Channel Brewing the night before said they had a good collection of sours. Turns out they did not have any sours, but they had an interesting selection of beers and good flavor combinations, and good food. Good stop. More driving and a bathroom stop. We went to Founders Brewing in Grand Rapids. Really nice taproom and big brewery. We tried some beers and had some tasty beer cheese dip. Bought some merch and then a relatively short drive to Kalamazoo. Checked into the Kalamazoo House, Very nice B&B. We walked to the Bell’s Eccentric Café. It was a nice walk across Kalamazoo. There was a lot of Christmas decorations. We had some beer and burgers. Good stuff. We called an Uber to get back to the B&B. Another good day. We made plans with our nieces for tomorrow.
