Happy New Year!

We were able to hang out with some friends and had a great weekend in South Padre Island. 

We visited the sea turtle rescue center. We saw some sea turtles that will be returned, and some that are permanent residents because they can no longer survive in the wild. We tasted some beer and had some appetizers at Bar Louie.

We also visited the bird center and went on a three hour bird watching tour. It was a little windy but we saw and named a lot of birds.

We were able to hang out on the beach (and have a couple beers). Saw the sand castle display. And finished off the weekend with a great meal at the Painted Marlin and a nice sunset.
