On the road again around 9:00am. Drove past the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. Then to Ledges State Park. Kinda disappointing. Lunch at Barn Town Brewing in West Des Moines. Very good. Good food and good beer. We started with cheese curds that were good and had a great smoked chipotle aioli. Karla had a Cran Apple Crip pastry sour that was very tasty. I had a Neon Hazy IPA that was also very good. Also, I had waffle mac & cheese with chorizo and jalapenos that was like having the best crispy bits of baked mac & cheese. On to St. Joseph Missouri. Checked into the Vineyard Mansion. Impressive place. Walked around St. Joseph a bit. Some very interesting architecture. Some of it could use some TLC. Stopped at Angry Swede Brewing and River Bluff Brewing. Both had good beer. Not too busy at Angry Swede. Busy at River Bluff but we found a place in the back away from the crowd. A quick stop back at the Vineyard and then over to JC Wyatt House for supper. Another good meal. Back to the room for some relaxing and bed.
